Privacy Policy
China Survival Guide is an English-language China travel guide website created by Mr. Panda, your local friend in Guangzhou, China. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site may collect and how it is used.
Information we may collect
- Voluntary contact information if you email us, such as your name and email address.
- Email address, if you sign up for a free checklist or email updates.
- Analytics data, after you accept analytics cookies, such as page views, traffic source, interactions with site links and forms, and general visitor trends.
- Technical data processed for analytics, such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from network information where applicable.
We do not require visitors to create an account or submit personal information to read the site.
How we use this information
We use this information to respond to messages, understand how the site is used, and improve the guides we publish. If you sign up for a free checklist or email updates, we use your email address to send the requested resource and occasional practical China travel updates from Mr. Panda. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
China Survival Guide may use third-party services, including:
- Cloudflare Pages and cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics
- Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID
G-T0K3MR87SG), which loads only after you accept analytics cookies - YouTube embeds and links
- Kit (ConvertKit), our email newsletter provider, to deliver checklists and email updates
- Trip.com, Airalo, Holafly, and other disclosed affiliate partners
These third-party services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Google Analytics helps us understand page views and interactions such as checklist signup steps, PDF link clicks, affiliate link clicks, YouTube link clicks, and calls to action. We do not send email addresses to Google Analytics. This website’s GA4 integration disables Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals, and its advertising consent settings remain denied. The GA4 property is configured for 14 months of event-data retention.
You can accept or decline Google Analytics through the analytics banner. You can change that choice from the Cookie Notice. Declining Google Analytics does not disable separate third-party services that you choose to interact with, such as a YouTube embed, an affiliate website, or the Kit signup form.
