Hi, I’m Mr. Panda, a local creator based in Guangzhou, China, and the person behind China Survival Guide.

Who I am

I create practical English-language guidance for foreign visitors who need China’s everyday travel systems to work: payments, internet access, trains, hotels, trip preparation, Guangzhou, and the Canton Fair.

China Survival Guide began as a way to explain these problems clearly on video. This website makes the same guidance easier to search, save, and use before or during a trip.

Why I created China Survival Guide

Many visitors are not looking for another list of famous attractions. They need to know whether a payment app will accept their card, how to get online after landing, what happens at a railway station, what a hotel needs at check-in, or how to prepare for a business visit.

I created this site to reduce that uncertainty with focused guides that solve one real travel problem at a time. It is especially useful before a first trip, but it also serves returning visitors who need an updated answer.

How guides are tested and updated

Apps, policies, prices, and local procedures can still change. For an official requirement, confirm the current rule with the responsible government body, transport operator, venue, bank, or service provider before relying on it.
